Derived from traditional Japanese papermaking craftsmanship, Washi Yarn is spun from natural plant fibers such as paper mulberry and mitsumata. Made of FSC-certified renewable wood pulp with physical chemical-free processing, it consumes only one-third of cotton yarn’s energy and biodegrades naturally in about four weeks.With a solid elliptical cross-section, the yarn is compact, smooth and lint-free. Its natural porous structure keeps warm in winter and cool in summer. It wicks moisture 40% faster than pure cotton, lowering summer perceived temperature by 2-3℃ as a wearable air conditioner. At only of cotton’s density, it is lightweight. It is naturally antibacterial, deodorant, anti-static, and blocks over 90% UV rays. The fabric stays crisp and non-sagging with an elegant rice-paper matte texture.
